Estimate Writing

Align prepares a Xactimate® estimate from your project documentation. Once you confirm the scope, the estimate is finalized and delivered.

Fee: The greater of 1.25% of the final estimated dollar amount or $125 per estimate. One set of revisions is included; further revision sets are a separate job and new estimate.

A $125 upfront start payment is required. The remaining balance is due within 30 days after Align returns the estimate to your company.

Claim Support

After you approve the estimate, Align can submit it to the carrier, respond to questions about the documented scope, and make revisions supported by project information.

Fee: 5% of the approved total, including estimate writing. Revisions are included until the claim is approved or an agreement is reached with the insurer.

A $125 upfront start payment is required. The remaining balance is due within 30 days after agreement with the insurer; it does not depend on when the insurer pays.

Align handles agreed carrier communication and estimate revisions.

Claim Support focuses on the documented estimate. Coverage decisions remain with the insurer; support does not guarantee approval or payment.

Restoration work. Clearly documented.

Types of projects we estimate

Align estimates restoration work from the documentation you supply. Your company performs the restoration and manages the project.

Water Mitigation

Estimates for documented water extraction, material removal and drying work. The scope brings your mitigation records into a detailed estimate, with mold-related estimating where applicable.

Typical scope may include affected materials, drying equipment and recorded work. Useful documentation includes room measurements, photos, moisture readings, drying logs and equipment-use records.

Fire and Smoke

Estimates for documented fire and smoke damage, including structural cleaning and related repair work. Clear separation of the cleaning and rebuild scopes helps your team see what is included.

Share photos of affected surfaces, room measurements, cleaning records and the proposed repair scope. Identify contents work separately so the estimate reflects the work your contractor will perform.

Storm Damage

Estimates for documented property damage from wind, hail or fallen trees. Project photos and measured repair details help connect the visible damage to the work being estimated.

Useful records include damage photos, measurements, material specifications and relevant trade bids. Describe the affected building areas and any completed temporary work that needs to be documented.

Interior reconstruction with exposed masonry, wiring and a scaffold.

Repair and Reconstruction

Estimates for the documented rebuild following mitigation or property damage. Room dimensions, materials and trade details help your team review how the repair scope fits together.

Share plans or room sketches, measurements, finish details and available trade bids. Note which materials were removed, which remain and the proposed work needed to restore the affected areas.

Contents and Pack-outs

Estimates for documented packing, moving and handling of household contents. Keeping this scope separate helps your team review the work involved in clearing and returning the affected space.

Useful records may include room-by-room inventories, photos, packing quantities and handling or storage records. Describe any contents cleaning separately so the requested scope is clear.

Cleaning and Specialty Estimates

Estimates for contents and structural cleaning, plus documented mold, biohazard and asbestos-abatement scopes. Align estimates the proposed work from your records; your restoration or specialty contractor performs it.

Provide the defined specialty scope, quantities, photos, applicable reports and contractor or trade bids. Identify the work and materials clearly; the estimate is not an inspection, testing service or abatement service.

Good documentation gives the estimate a clearer start.

01

Project visuals

Gather clear project photos, room scans or a floor-plan sketch and measurements. Show the affected areas and the work being estimated.

02

Supporting records

Share applicable drying logs, work records, service agreements, completion records or specialty bids. The useful records depend on your project.

03

Service choice & context

Tell Align which support you need, what stage the project is at and any known carrier questions. Align can confirm missing information before estimating.

A few practical answers

Before you send the project.

Usually not. Align generally prepares estimates remotely from project documentation and serves restoration contractors across the lower 48 states. When necessary, a site visit may be possible within the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area; discuss that need when you inquire.

Align can prepare estimates for mitigation and for the repair or reconstruction scope. Explain which work you need estimated and provide the relevant documentation so the service and deliverables can be agreed for your project.

Tell Align what has changed and provide the supporting records. Estimate Writing includes one set of revisions; further revision sets are treated as a separate job and new estimate. Claim Support includes unlimited revisions until the claim is approved or agreement is reached with the insurer.
